6th Annual Dream Factory Tractor Cruise
May 7, 2011
Blue Springs, MO
The President of the GKCTCC had a dream come true on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Blue Springs, MO with perfect weather for the 6th Annual Dream Factory Tractor Cruise. The cruise started with registration at Blue Springs High School and ended back at the school for a delicious dinner and awards program. Following introductions that included Larry Moore (TV 9) and three people from the Dream Factory around 9:30 a.m., ninety eight tractors moved out and traveled around 40 miles with a morning break at a middle school, lunch in a park, afternoon break at an elementary school and then back to the high school around 4:15 p.m. There were a few tractors that had a problem but we won’t go there. Renee DuRee, a Dream Factory recipient rode part way on the 76 Fire Truck. The tractor cruise generated over $17,000 for the Dream Factory. Over the past six years the tractor cruises have raised a little over $95,000 for the Dream Factory. A special thanks to Dan Hanna, cruise leader, for doing an outstanding job again this year. Also thanks to the Jackson County Sheriff Department, 76 Fire Company crew, rollback drivers, Blue Springs School District, break food movers, registration ladies, the cookie lady and all the tractor drivers. Everyone working together made for an enjoyable day. What a beautiful and fun day for a great cause.
