5th Dream Factory Tractor Cruise
May 8. 2010
Independence, Missouri

The 5th Dream Factory Tractor Cruise was held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Independence, Missouri. The KC Wolf and “Mack” from the Missouri Maverik’s Hockey Team were a big hit and seemed to enjoy the morning. Larry Moore with Channel 9 was also present in the morning to visit with the drivers and spectators. It was a wonderful day for a wonderful cause. The 120 + or - tractors left the Independence Square around 9:45 a.m. and returned around 4:30 p.m. The weather was a little windy and on the cool side, but everyone seemed to enjoy the ride. The cruise stopped for a morning break and then on to Sibley Orchards for lunch. Following the lunch provided by Pat and Rita Farrell, the tractors moved out and continued back to Independence stopping for a short break along the way. The group returned to the Community of Christ Campus RV Park for a barbecue dinner and program. Approximating $14,000 was collected for the Dream Factory. Special thanks are in order for Dan Hanna, chairman, Maxine Hooper (the cookie lady), Pat and Rita Farrell, the ladies at the registration table, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Motorcycle Patrol officers, the Community of Christ Campus and Larry Lundgrin for moving supplies as needed. Yes, it was truly another wonderful day for a wonderful cause.

Burrrrrrr!

Old man winter didn't want to let go of his grip on this year's Spring weather quite yet. We found out that we still needed our winter coat's for this year's Dream Factory Tractor Cruise.
The ladies at the registration table had blankets wrapped around them to keep warm. I saw guys in their winter coverall's, hooded coat's, winter gloves, etc., you get the picture. But despite the cold weather that morning the day turned out to be pretty nice with bright sun shining sky's and NO rain!
With all the winter clothes that everyone had on it really must have really warmed everyone heart's and pocket books, as it looks like that we are going to give the Dream Factory over $14,000 this year! THANK YOU, to each and everyone of you that helped contribute to this year's event. Whether it was with your monetary contribution or with the help of just being there to help with the organization of putting on an event of this size, it TRULY is appreciated! With everyone's help we cannot do this without everyone pitching in and helping out. There were 120 tractors that made this year's cruise. It is quite a site to see all those tractors lined up following one another going down the road. Our precession of tractors was over one mile in length. Without the help of the Independence 76' Fire Company and the Jackson County Sheriffs Motorcycle Unit we could not make this event work! Their commitment to our event is TRULY appreciated! Also the help of O"Dell Tractor and Independence Specialty Tow helping the unfortunate make their days better when they know that they won't be stranded on the road.( I know first hand how grateful we are for having them help us out).
This event is bringing more and more people from around the state to come and share the experience of the Dream Factory Tractor Cruise. I don't think that anyone goes away disappointed!
Thanks again for making this year's Cruise a success! As always for those of you club members who didn't come, you are the ones that missed out on a fun day. Hopefully you can make it next year.

Thanks to everyone for what your do!

I for one would like to say a very special Thanks to Dan Hanna for making 2010 the best <cruise> ever. The route was very well planned (special thanks to Jackson Sheriffs Department.), the weather was cool and sunny, the lunch was very taste ( Pat and his wife are very special people.), the evening meal was great, what more can one say. What a successful event.
Thanks to all (Members, Spouses, and Friends) who made this a memorable day.
