Old Shawnee Days Parade -- June 8th, 2019, 10 AM

The 53rd Annual Old Shawnee Days Parade is scheduled for June 8th, 2019, starting at 10 AM. The theme this year is “Peace, Love and Old Shawnee Days”. We will meet before 9 AM at Blind Box BBQ, 13214 W 62nd Terrace, Shawnee, KS 66216. Blind Box BBQ is just west of Reynolds Lawn and Leisure, between Planet Fitness and Power Play (there is lots of parking for trucks/trailers). At 9 AM we will proceed to the Staging Area. Note: The Staging Area is unique again this year due to Nieman Rd construction. We will be starting 1 mile past Nieman on Johnson. When the parade is done we will meet back and eat at Blind Box BBQ.

FROM SHAWNEE PARADE COMMITTEE (Dated May 26th):

The parade is coming up soon on June 8 and I wanted to let you know where to meet on the day of the parade. We have a temporary route again this year due to construction on Nieman Rd, so you will be parking / lining up starting on Johnson Dr and Goddard St (see Final Lineup Map 5_26 PDF). We will use 3 of the 4 lanes on Johnson Dr for staging and end staging at the Walnut Grove Trailer Park. Entries will lineup on a first come first serve basis again this year. Please do not park in front of any streets or parking lots/driveways. Also, see the "Parade Staging Area Access PDF" for additional information on lining up with large vehicles. We will have people on site to help - look for them in yellow vests with "Parade Volunteer" on it.

Please review the official map provided by the city (see Parade Parking PDF) - for areas to park off the parade route. You will be handed a card with your "parade number" on it. Please display this number in the top right of your vehicle or have the first person in your parade entry show it to the people on the stage in front of City Hall. The parade will start at 10am. Please be at the parade location by 9:15am.
