Dream Factory Tractor Cruise 2009
WHOA NELLIE!!!
As the sports announcer Keith Jackson used to say, what a turn out we had for this year's 4th Annual Dream Factory Tractor Cruise. We had 111 register for this year's event. I think that we a making some headway in making this event one of the premier Tractor Cruise's here in the Midwest. We are not able to do that without the help of all the dedicated people who help put this on. The ladies at the registration table, the servers, who passed out snacks and food, the guys directing traffic on the Square, and the guys who parked trucks and trailers. There are a lot of people who, behind the scenes, do things like , the printing of materials to send out, put mailings together, bake apple pies to feed the workers doing the mailings, lick stamps, put the bags together, go get the door prizes that we give away, making sure that the outside sources that we use are there where they are supposed to be, making 38 dozen, awesome cookies, taking pictures of the event, etc., without them, we couldn't do this! When we all work as a team GOOD things happen!
This year we are going to be able to give the Dream Factory $16,000 for this years event. That will make a four year total of $62, 310. If you are not participating as a club member, you are missing the boat. Just ask anyone who goes on this event and see what kind of response you get. What a fun day you will have.
Thank You so much, for making this happen.
4th
Annual Dream Factory Tractor Cruise
May
2, 2009
Independence,
Missouri
The
4th annual Dream Factory Tractor Cruise was held on May 2, 2009 in
Independence, Missouri. The KC Wolf
was a big hit and seemed to enjoy the morning.
Larry Moore with Channel 9 was also present in the morning to visit with
the drivers and the spectators. It
was a wonderful day for a wonderful cause.
The 100 plus tractors left Independence Square at 10:00 a.m. and returned
around 5:00 p.m. The rainbow of
colors traveled through the hills and valleys on a pleasant day for
approximately 40 miles that made for an enjoyable time by all.
The cruise stopped for a morning break at Dave Mullnix’s farm on Blue
Mills Road and then on to the Sibley Orchards for lunch.
Following the lunch provided by Pat and Rita Farrell, the tractors moved
out and continued back to Independence stopping for a short break along the way.
The group returned to the RLDS Temple for a barbecue dinner and program.
Approximately $16,000 was collected for the Dream Factory.
Many thanks are in order for the drivers and others who helped with the
fundraiser. Special thanks are in
order for Dan Hanna, chairman, Maxine Hooper (the cookie lady), Dave Mullinix,
Pat and Rita Farrell, the ladies at the registration table, Jackson County
Sheriff Patrol Officers, RLDS Temple and the Larrys for moving supplies as
needed. Yes, it was truly a
wonderful day for a wonderful cause.
