Farm Heritage Day - July 14,
2007
National Agricultural Center
and Hall of Fame, Bonner Springs, Kansas The GKCTCC rocket ship landed at the
National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame on Saturday July 14, 2007 for Farm
Heritage Day,. The weather was great but a little on the warm side later
in the day. A big thank you to Thurman Duncan and his crew for getting the
pull tracks ready on Friday so they would be great for Saturday. It was a
win win situation for everyone. Activities seemed to go as scheduled:
Tractor display (38) tractors, antique/classic tractor pull (110 hooks), garden
tractor pull (106 hooks), two pedal tractor pulls (10:30 a.m. - 12 kids and 2:30
p.m. - 12 kids), Parade of Power (12:00 noon) plowing demonstration by John
Didde (JD G) and Glenn Ratliff (JD 60) and tractor games. Results of the
tractor games included: Slow Forward (Jim Arnote lst place, Charles
Eagleburger 2nd place and Barry Dahmer 3rd place), Slow Reverse (Jim
McClung 1st place, Bary Dahmer 2nd place, Jim Arnote 3rd place), Quick Reverse
(George Reed 1st place, Keven Parks 2nd place,
Charles Eagleburger 3rd place), Quick Forward (Gavin Parks 1st place, George
Reed 2nd place, Rick Hooper 3rd place), Coiling Chain in Circle (Kevin Parks,
1st place, Barry Dahmer 2nd place, Gavin Parks 3rd place), and Barrel
Roll(Garcia Howard 1st place, Jim McClung 2nd place, Kevin Parks 3rd place).
Thanks to all the great help that was available on Saturday--it seems like they
just kept unloading from the rocket ship. Also, a big thank you to Cathy
Hahner and her staff at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame for
the great hospitality on Saturday.
