GKCTCC Meeting/White Elephant Auction
November 4, 2007 2:00 p.m.
The GKTCC space ship landed
on Sunday, November 4, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Mike and Karen Corum’s residence for
the last meeting of the year. The
space ship was loaded with 28 people along with a variety of items for the White
Elephant Auction. Points of
discussion during the meeting included: (1)
Approve Slate of Officers (2008), (2) Farm Show (2008), (3) Farm Heritage Day
(July 12, 2008), (4)Discussion on status of donated tractors and existing
tractor, and (5) Dream Factory Tractor Cruise (2008). Other points of interest included: (1) Possible trip, (2) Santa Claus Connection/Parade in
Overland Park (2008), and (3) future meeting places for April (2008)and November
(2008) club meetings. Details of
the topics discussed will be available in the minutes of the meeting that will
be provided in the Jan.-Feb. Newsletter. Following
the meeting, the group enjoyed a bowl of chili, corn bread and an assortment of
desserts before the start of the White Elephant Auction.
The auction was a fun time for all because we had auctioneers bidding
against each other along with others just bidding to keep the bid items going.
Over all we collected around $650-$.680 for the auction.
Thanks are in order for Mike and Karen Corum for hosting the meeting and
Bary Porter and Ken Buell who worked the auction. Everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon as the space ship took
off. The weight during landing was
the same as for take off -- the only difference was the people were carrying the
other persons’ (junk).
