GKCTCC Meeting - February 8, 2009
2:00 p.m.
National Agricultural Hall of Fame
Wow! What a turn out! Forty-six people found their way to the National
Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2:00
p.m. The beautiful weather probably helped the attendance but the interest in
green and yellow colors was also a factor. Following the
approval of the Nov. 2008 meeting minutes and financial report, the 2009 club
officers were approved. Other topics discussed included the (1)
Western Farm Show, February 20-22, 2009, (2) Tractor Daze, Saturday, July 11,
2009, (3) 4th Annual Dream Factory Cruise, May 2, 2009,
Independence, Mo., (4) status of Hendrich’s tractor/club tractor, (5) Plow
Day, May 9, 2009 and (6) 2009 Schedule of Events. During the topic
of Tractor Daze, the tractor pull rules were revised along with increasing the
hook fee from $8 to $12. Jean DuBois was available to
take polo shirt or hoodie orders. Duane Craig’s tractor will be featured on
the club button that will include the Dream Factory Tractor Cruise,
Tractor Daze, American Royal Parade, Powell Gardens Tractor Show and Western
Farm Show (2010). A couple of ideas came up for a possible club
trip--one being the test site in Nebraska and the other was a working farm using
old equipment.. More on this topic at the April meeting. Door
prizes were won by Wes Storm and Kasey Stowe. The next scheduled
meeting/barbecue will be hosted by Joe and Lori Meyer (Overland Tow) in
Merriam, KS. Thanks to everyone who came out on a nice day.
