GKCTCCC Meeting/White Elephant Auction
November 2, 2008 - 2:00 p.m.
Kenneth and Ramona Mizer Farm
The GKCTCC light rail stopped on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Kenneth and Ramona
Mizer’s farm for the last meeting of the year that also included a white
elephant auction. The highlight of the meeting was five gallons
of ice cream churned by a John Deere 330 tractor---the lowlight of the meeting
was low attendance to help eat it. We had 19 at the meeting so some of the
people got good buys at the auction. The weather was “out of
this world” --- in other words, “shirt sleeve weather.” During the
meeting: (1) the 2008 officers were again voted in to continue for 2009, (2)
Farm Show (Feb. 20, 21, 22, 2009) display will feature John Deere 430, 530 and
630 model tractors, (3) members voted to continue the Dream Factory Tractor
Cruise for Saturday, May 2, 2009 with emphasis on getting more club member
participation, (4) Tractor Daze at the National Agricultural Hall of Fame on
Saturday, July 11, 2009 and (5) identified places to meet for April 5th meeting
(Joe Meyer -- Overland Tow),
November 2nd meeting/white elephant auction (Ray Jones, Belton) and Plow Day
scheduled for Nov. 8th, 2008 ( Call John Didde 913/888-5049). Following the
meeting many goodies were consumed before and during the
auction. Thanks to Bary Porter for being the auctioneer, vice presidents for
assisting and Linda Ratzlaff for doing the clerking. A big thank you to Kenneth
and Ramona Mizer for hosting the meeting.
