Halloween Eastside Tractor Club
*Halloween Parade-October 25, 2008
Independence, MO*.
All week it was rainy, dreary and blustery with a cold
chill in the air. Then on the eve before the big event the "goblin
gods" parted the clouds and the sun came out.
Everyone loaded up their tractors, grabbed their kids,
grandkids and even the dog. Spirits were high as we decorated the tractors and
donned some crazy costumes.
We had 14 tractors and 2 decorated trailers filled with
lots of kids, parents and grandparents all decked out in their costumes.
The grand final was our own president "Colonel
Hrabik" bringing up the rear in his 1953 M38A1 Jeep. *For all you history
buffs,"Col Hrabik" served in Korea and had his jeep decorated with the
bumper numbers of
the unit he served in.
Thanks to everyone who participated. The turn-out has
gotten so large we have out grown our parking lot. Next year we'll have a bigger
one. Thanks also to the "goblin gods" for the beautiful day.
We made quite a showing!
We especially want to welcome and thank two new members
and their families: Kasey Stowe and Gary Schmacher. They are now officially
members of the elite "Eastside Tractor Guys".
Happy Halloween,
Glenn Ratzlaff
