Meeting/Picnic-June 7, 2009
National
Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame
The
Greater Kansas City Two-Cylinder Club had a meeting/picnic on Sunday, June 7,
2009 at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame with 39 present.
New members included Paul Cummings and Carl Knuth.
The meeting followed a delicious picnic that included an assortment of
goodies provided by the group. We
had a great meeting following the picnic--it just goes to show that people
operate better on a full stomach (that
sounds like an army slogan). Major
topics included: (1) Dream Factory Tractor Cruise follow up, (2) Tractor Daze-
July 11, 2009, (3) American Royal Parade, (4) Missouri State Fair - Thursday,
Aug. 13, 2009, (5) November club meeting, (6) Club Trip - Nebraska, (7) Club
Jackets and (8) selling the Hendricks JD B tractor.
Highlights from the major topics included:
During the Dream Factory Tractor cruise follow up by Dan Hanna, Dick
Smith with the Dream Factory thanked the club and presented the club with a
plaque for a job well done. Tim
Daugherty, Director of the Ag. Hall, was present to talk about a “Mud Run”
that will be included along with Tractor Daze.
Bill Eagleburger presented information on the American Royal Parade,
Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The theme this year is “Educating Youth--Riding for a Reason.” The president mentioned the Missouri State fair is Thursday,
Aug. 13, 2009, 6:00 p.m. Ray Jones in Belton, Mo. will host the Nov. 2009
meeting. Ken Buell and the

Labor Day. Following the meeting,
Ken Buell and Bary Porter “resident auctioneers” auctioned off the Hendricks
JD B tractor and 3 point hitch separately and then together. Duane Craig was
high bidder ($1100) on the tractor and Wes Storm was high bidder ($600) on the 3
point hitch. No one bid on the
combined units. Total bids were
$1700. Thanks to Bob Antes and Wes
Storm for bringing the tractor to the meeting.
Also thanks to everyone for coming and enjoying the wonderful day.
