Meeting June 3 2007
The GKCTCC Rocket Ship landed on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at the National
Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs for a picnic and
meeting. The weather was beautiful but the load was light with 21 in
attendance. Even though the attendance was low the food was in abundance
so no one went away hungry. Following the picnic the meeting started at
2:00 p.m. No new members or guests were present. The April 1 meeting
minutes were approved along with a financial report by Bary Porter. Farm
Heritage Day at Bonner Springs on Saturday, July 14, 2007 was discussed
in detail. Thurman Duncan has offered to grade the tracks for the
tractor pulls. Mike Corum will provide a pull back tractor for the large
sled. Thanks to both individuals for donations of their equipment and
time. The Dream Factory Tractor Cruise was a great success in collecting
$17, 466.00 for the Dream Factory. Thanks to Dan Hanna, chairperson, for
his outstanding leadership. The American Royal Parade is scheduled for
Saturday, September 29, 2007 in Kansas City, Mo. The theme this year is
“Show Me Your Royal.” The GKCTCC Meeting/White Elephant Auction in
November will take place at Mike and Karen Corum’s in North Kansas City.
Other topics discussed included the Missouri State Fair and Tractor Show
in Boonville, Mo., Sept 6-9, 2007 (featuring John Deere Tractors).
Donation of the late Jim Hendricks’ tractors to the club was discussed.
The club voted to accept the gracious donation. Hopefully everyone will
be resting up for the Farm Heritage Day activities on Saturday, July 14,
2007 because it will take a total club effort to make it a day of fun
for all. Hope to see you all on the next space flight.
