Platte County Steam Engine Tractor Cruise--August 12, 2011
Tracy, Mo.
A small group of
East Side Tractor Guys participated in the Platte County Steam Engine tractor
cruise on Friday, August 12, 2011. The small group included: Dan Hanna (Farmall
Super H), Lawrence Walter (JD 60), George Reed (Oliver 66) and Glenn Razlaff (JD
A). The tractor cruise left Tracy, Mo. and headed east to avoid the flood around
the Missouri river. The area was very pretty, the corn and soybeans looked good
and then the rain started. We drove through rain squalls all morning. We all had
umbrellas which really helped. After our noon break, the leader of the cruise
was unable to restart his tractor due to the rain. He solved that problem by
taking his son off his tractor and took off to continue the cruise. The weather
improved in the afternoon with sunny skies. This will be the 3rd tractor cruise
that we got rained on this year. If you need any rain just schedule a tractor
cruise with us and it will rain. Our tractors all ran good although Dan had
quite a fight with his umbrella but was finally able to get it stabilized. He
even resorted to wearing an Arkansas rain suit (trash bag).
