Plow Day--March 29, 2008

On a cool and gusty day, Saturday, March 30, 2008 four John Deere tractors with plows turned over around 75 acres of river bottom ground
for spring planting. The group was small but mighty. Thanks to the Mark Meinke’s family for the fields to be plowed and lunch. Club members with tractors included John Didde, plow chairperson, (John Deere G), Wes Storm (John Deere G), Dan Hanna (John Deere B), and Bob Antes (John Deere 630). Other club members in attendance as observers included Jack Mitchell and wife, Jim Arnote and wife and Don Hrabik.

Comments:

Don, John, Bob, Dan,
What a day we had today. the weather was brisk in the morning, but became nice and we had a little sun also. I greatly enjoyed myself today. John you did a great job as usual and again please thank the host and his wife for the great meal. Also for providing some great fun for us old retired guys and Dan.
Tonight I for one will sleep good, spending time out in the fields and being able to stir a little dirt makes me remember just how fortunate/ lucky I am. To be able to do things like we did today with friends who share the same fond memmories of our younger days. You guys are the best.
Thanks also for your help when I lost the clinch pins.
