Plow Day 2009
Buckner, Mo.
The eastside tractor boys sure know how to pull off an exciting “Plow Day” in Buckner Mo. that took place on November 14, 2009 starting around 9:00 a.m. In addition to the eight tractors plowing there were also nine teams of horses and mules using four walking plows and five sulky plows. Everyone was plowing at the same time only on different plots of approximately a ninety acre field. The weather was cloudy with rain in the forecast but it held off until everyone was worn out or low on gas. Lunch was served on location so everyone didn’t stay out of the field long. Club members or friends plowing included: Bob Antes (JD 630, 430 T, 430 W), Glenn Ratcliff (JD 60), Wes Storm (JD G), Dan Hanna (AC D-14), Tim Simmons (JD A), Jim Arnote (JD 420) and Paul Antes (JD 420, 430). Don Hrabik, Spike Speiker and Phil Addison enjoyed the day taking pictures and watching the action. If you were not present on Saturday you missed a great day seeing the past and the present in action.
