MISSOURI STATE FAIR PARADE
WOW! The GKCTCC took the Missouri State Fair Parade by force on Thursday evening, August 13th. It was truly a streak of “green” starting in Lone Jack, Mo. and then convoying to Sedalia, Mo. With twenty tractors and a gator in the convoy it would appear we were going to farm all of eastern Mo. We picked up two more tractors already at the unloading area. The weather was great but a little on the warm side but no one seamed to mind. Two highlights of the parade included: (1) two semi trailers hauling seven tractors and (2) some one’s tractor running great but wouldn’t move. Tractors in the parade included Jim Arnote (JD 420), Jared Arnote (JD B), Bill Eagleburger (JD BR), Harold Kurzweil (JD 330), Eric Linder (430 W), Don Scott (JD 530), Jason Kurzweil ( JD 630), Ron Linder (JD 630 Wheatland), Jim Kircher (JD 730), Mike Kurzweil (JD 830), Andrew Dubois (JD A), Jean Dubois (JD Gator), Don Hrabik (JD 430 W), Glenn Ratliff (JD 60), Dan Hanna (JD B), Duane Craig (JD AR), Wes Storm (JD AR), Phill Allison (JD 420 T), Steve Kempf (JD G), Ann Kempf ( JD 60), Bob Antes (JD 430 T), Cal Rothenberger (JD H) and John Didde (JD 420), We were notified the next day the club won 2nd place in the parade. Thanks to everyone for coming------Yes, we were quite impressive.
P.S.--We learned that the club won Second Place (Red Ribbon and $50) in the Farm Machinery category.
Congratulations to all.
